§ 9-7. General election date; officers to be elected.

  • (a)

    On the first Tuesday in April of each year there shall be a general election by the qualified voters of the city for the election of one (1) councilman from each ward of the city, who shall hold his office for a term of two (2) years.

    (b)

    At the general election held on the first Tuesday in April, every four (4) years, there shall be elected by the qualified voters of the city, a mayor, who shall hold his office for a term of four (4) years.
