§ 10-23. Supervision and control.

The supervision, custody, maintenance and control of the fire department shall be under the direct control of the mayor and council of the city. The fire chief and the council of the city shall adopt and promulgate rules and regulations for the conduct of the fire department, including the hours of duty of firemen. The salary or wages of any fireman shall cease upon the date of his removal, suspension or discharge.
