§ 10-22. Office of fire chief created.

There is created the office of fire chief. The fire chief shall be appointed by the mayor with the consent of the majority of the members elected to the city council. The fire chief may be removed from office by the mayor with the consent of a majority of all the members elected to the city council. The fire chief may be removed from office by a two-thirds vote of all members elected to the council, independent of the mayor's approval or recommendation.
