 Chapter 9. ELECTIONS

  § 9-2. Wards.

  • The city is divided into five (5) wards as follows:

    (1)

    First Ward. Beginning at the center of the intersection of Central Avenue and Main Street The West Boundary line of the First Ward will run south down the center of Main Street to the center of 11th Street; Thence East down the center of 11th Street to the center of Grand Avenue; Thence South down the center of Grand Avenue to the center of Centennial Avenue The South Boundary line of the first ward starting at the south west corner of the first ward at the center of the intersection of Grand Avenue and Centennial Avenue; Thence East down the center of Centennial Avenue to the center of Clinton Street; Thence North down the center of Clinton Street to the center of 15th Street; Thence East down the center of 15th Street to the center of Fulton Street; Thence North down the center of Fulton Street to the center of 13th Street; Thence East down the center of 13th Street to the center of Glenwood Place; Thence south down the center of Glenwood Place to the center of Centennial Avenue; Thence East down the center of Centennial Ave to Buena Vista Avenue and continuing due East to the Eastern city limit line. The first ward shall be bounded on the east by the city limits. The north boundary of the first ward shall extend from the center of the intersection of Main Street and Central Avenue; Thence East down the center of Central Avenue to the center of Clinton Street; Thence South down the center of Clinton Street to the center of 2nd Street; Thence East down the center of 2nd Street to the center of Fulton Street; Thence South down the center of Fulton Street to the center of 3rd Street; Thence East down the center of 3rd Street to the center of Orchard Street; Thence North down the center of Orchard Street to the center of 2nd Street; Thence East down the center of 2nd Street to the center of Bois D Arc Street; Thence South down the center of Bois D Arc Street; to the center of 3rd Street; Thence East down the center of 3rd Street to the center of River Street; Thence North down the center of River Street to the center of the Rail Road Crossing River Street North of Central Ave; Thence East down the center of the rail road tracks to the East City limit line and the Northeast corner of the First Ward.

    Second Ward. Beginning at the center of Oak Street where it meets the west city limits; thence east down the center of Oak Street to the center of Florence Street; Thence South down the center of Florence Street to the center of Walnut Street; Thence East down the center of Walnut Street to the center of Center Street; Thence South down the center of Center Street to the center of Chestnut Street; Thence East down the center of Chestnut Street to the center of Case Street; Thence South down the center of Case Street to the center of Cedar Street; Thence East down the center of Cedar Street to the center of Garrison Street; Thence North down the center of Garrison Street to the center of Chestnut Street; Thence East down the center of Chestnut Street to the center of Main Street; Thence North down the center of Main Street to the center of Central Avenue; Thence East down the center of Central Ave to the center of Clinton Street; Thence South down the center of Clinton Street to the center of 2nd Street; Thence East down the center of 2nd Street to the center of Fulton Street; Thence South down the center of Fulton Street to the center of 3rd Street; Thence East down the center of 3rd Street to the center of Orchard Street; Thence North down the center of Orchard Street to the center of 2nd Street; Thence East down the center of 2nd Street to the center of Bois D Arc Street; Thence South down the center of Bois D Arc Street; to the center of 3rd Street; Thence East down the center of 3rd Street to the center of River Street; Thence North down the center of River Street to the center of the Rail Road Crossing River Street North of Central Ave; Thence East down the center of the rail road tracks to the East City limit line. The western, northern and eastern boundaries of the second ward shall be the city limits.

    Third Ward. Beginning in the center of Baker Boulevard where it intersects the west city limit line north of 16th Street South of Fred Hatfield Circle; Thence North down the center of Baker Boulevard to the center of Centennial Avenue; Thence East down the center of Centennial Avenue to the center of the Rail Road Tracks intersecting Centennial Avenue East of Sophia Street West of Case Street; Thence Northeast down the center of the Rail Road Tracks to the center of Macon Street; Thence East down the center of Macon Street to the center of Grand Avenue; Thence North down the center of Grand Avenue to the center of 11th Street; Thence West down the center of 11th Street to the center of Main Street; Thence North down the center of Main Street to the center of Chestnut Street; Thence West down the center of Chestnut Street to the center of Garrison Avenue; Thence South down the center of Garrison Avenue to the center of Cedar Street; Thence West down the center of Cedar Street to the center of Case Street; Thence North down the center of Case Street to the center of Chestnut Street; Thence West down the center of Chestnut Street to the center of Center Street; Thence North down the center of Center Street to the center of Walnut Street; Thence West down the center of Walnut Street to the center of Florence Street; Thence North down the center of Florence Street to the center of Oak Street; Thence West down the center of Oak Street to the west city limit line. Thence south following the West City limit line back to the point of beginning.

    Fourth Ward. The Northern boundary of the Fourth Ward beginning at the south west corner of the first ward at the center of the intersection of Grand Avenue and Centennial Avenue; Thence East down the center of Centennial Ave. to the center of Clinton Street; Thence North down the center of Clinton Street to the center of 15th Street; Thence East down the center of 15th Street to the center of Fulton Street; Thence North down the center of Fulton Street to the center of 13th Street; Thence East down the center of 13th Street to the center of Glenwood Place; Thence south down the center of Glenwood Place to the center of Centennial Avenue; Thence East down the center of Centennial Ave to Buena Vista Ave and continuing due East to the Eastern city limit line. The Western Boundary beginning at the center of the intersection of Grand Avenue and Centennial Avenue; Thence South down the center of Grand Avenue to the south city limit line intersecting Grand Avenue. The southern and eastern boundary of the fourth ward shall be the city limit line.

    Fifth Ward. All of the land within the city limits that lays south and west of this line Beginning in the center of Baker Boulevard where Baker Boulevard intersects the west city limit line north of 16th Street South of Fred Hatfield Circle; Thence North down the center of Baker Boulevard to the center of Centennial Avenue; Thence East down the center of Centennial Avenue to the center of the Rail Road Tracks intersecting Centennial Avenue East of Sophia Street West of Case Street; Thence Northeast down the center of the Rail Road Tracks to the center of Macon Street; Thence East down the center of Macon Street to the center of Grand Avenue; Thence south down the center of Grand Avenue to the intersection of the southern city limit line. The west and south boundary of the fifth ward shall be the western and southern city limit line.
