§ 2-106. Appointment of officers.

  • (a)

    If vacancies shall exist in any office of any officer (department head) of the city, it shall be the duty of the mayor to appoint a committee to take applications for said positions in accordance with existing city rules and to recommend a suitable person to the mayor for recommendation for appointment of said officer of the city.

    (b)

    Said committee as a minimum, shall consist of the mayor, city administrator, chairman of the budget ways and means committee, and the committee chairman of the relevant oversight committee for which the vacancy exists.

    (c)

    The mayor, if he shall deem it necessary, may appoint other such persons to the committee as he sees fit to accomplish the filling of such vacancies.

    (d)

    All ordinances or parts of ordinances therefore enacted which are in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
