§ 23-154. Vehicle equipment, load, etc.

  • (a)

    No person shall operate a vehicle, unless the vehicle is equipped and maintained as required by state law. No person shall operate a vehicle in violation of the size, weight and load limits imposed by state law.

    (b)

    Load limits on the three (3) bridges on North Garrison between Missouri Route "V" and Eldorado Avenue are hereby established as follows:

    (1)

    Nine-ton maximum gross weight load.

    (2)

    Single axles only.

    (c)

    All motor vehicles, and every truck, trailer and semitrailer operating upon the public highways and roadways located in this city and carrying goods or material or farm products which may reasonably be expected to become dislodged and fall from the vehicle, truck, trailer or semitrailer as a result of wind pressure or air pressure and/or by the movement of the vehicle, truck, trailer or semitrailer shall have a protective cover or be sufficiently secured so that no portion of such goods or material can become dislodged and fall from the vehicle, track, trailer, or semitrailer while being transported or carried.
