§ 21-2. Obstruction of parkway.

  • No person shall erect or maintain any fence, or extend any wire, or place any other obstruction, in any parkway except the following:

    (1)

    Brick or masonry structure built around a mailbox for the purpose of supporting a single mailbox and provided that:

    a.

    The outside horizontal dimension of any one (1) side or the maximum diameter of such structure does not exceed twenty-six (26) inches.

    b.

    Said structure or any part thereof are located behind the existing curb and where no curb exist, behind the back of a curbline as established by the city's engineering department.

    All obstructions built in the parkway, including brick or masonry structures built around mailboxes, are subject to being removed or destroyed at any time by the city or by any of the various utilities that are in or placed in the street right-of-way or parkway. Any such removal or reconstruction shall be done at the property owner's expense.
