§ 18-25. Employee discipline.

  • The chief of police may suspend without pay, demote or discharge for misbehavior or inefficient service any of the personnel of the police department in accordance with the procedures set forth in the personnel policy manual adopted by the city. Employees who are suspended, demoted or discharged for misbehavior or inefficient service shall, upon application, be granted a public hearing before the city personnel board as set forth in the city personnel policy manual. Such application to the personnel board must be made within ten (10) calendar days of the date the employee was notified of the suspension, demotion or discharge for misbehavior or inefficiency.
