§ 17-57. Powers and duties of adjustment.

  • (a)

    In addition to other duties, the planning, zoning and historic preservation commission is authorized to investigate any and all potential sources of funds with which to accomplish its authorized objectives and to advance the purposes herein stated, to encourage the formation of foundations, trusts and other organizations for the advancement of such purposes and providing funds therefor, and to support and coordinate the efforts of any organizations or individuals desiring to acquire property or interests therein to perpetuate historic landmarks or historic districts.

    (b)

    The planning, zoning and historic preservation commission, exclusively, shall hold hearings upon applications for a certificate of appropriateness and grant or deny such certificates pursuant to section 17-56.
